Typesettings — Typography

Sudoku in √2 & φ

First I make a font. This is a set of characters with predetermined spacings. Each shape I assign to a key on the keyboard. Fonts are mostly monospaced — all characters are of equal width. I started with Fontographer and FontLab but now I’m working with Glyphs. What follows is typesetting; as if you were setting a mathematical formula, »letters« with the exponents and indices. In recent years I use text typed in advance and solved sudokus (Japanese crosswords). For typesetting I first used QuarkXPress, but now I’m working in InDesign.
